COVIDHQAfrica was a key part of the Saving Lives and Livelihoods campaign to reduce the coronavirus pandemic's impact, including a $1.3B grant from Mastercard Foundation. The COVIDHQAfrica platform designed by theZVG was recognized for its focus on real African stories and pandemic information.

The Problem

With a pandemic of misinformation threatening to compound the COVID-19 situation in Africa, Mastercard Foundation needed to tackle the issue head-on with timely, accurate, and relevant information.

The Solution

This was a digital and content play. theZVG built a digital tracker that showed key country data on cases, deaths, and vaccinations available to the public. In tandem, a content management system powered a website and social media channels with written, visual, and audio stories from Africans on their COVID-19 experiences with fresh points of view.
